Common situations and what to do. The app has no accounts, so there are no sign-in, password or account-recovery problems.
Conversation does not start
Conversation needs a recent iPhone able to run the language model. On an unsupported device the screen says so; Sounds, Watch and Learn by speaking keep working.
If your device is supported and conversation still does not start, the model is probably still downloading (about 2 GB, Wi-Fi recommended). Conversation cannot start before it finishes — that download is what makes the app work offline afterwards.
It says “No speech recognition”
Speech recognition depends on the dictation languages installed on your phone, and the app does this without going online. To add a language:
- Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → the language
- On the same page, Dictation must be turned on
- Settings → General → Keyboard → Dictation Languages → check that language
- In Notes, switch the keyboard to that language and tap the microphone; the dictation data downloads then
No sound
Check the silent switch and the volume. Natural voices are a separate pack (83 MB) and download only when you tap to get them; until then the app uses the Apple voice.
Cancelling the subscription
Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Subscriptions are managed by Apple; you have no account with us.
Deleting your data
Your corrections and what the other person knows about you can be cleared inside the app. Deleting the app removes everything from the phone. We hold no data about you, so there is no record to delete — privacy policy.
